al r hounsell

I've known Al r Hounsell since 2001 and the days of Leading Edge. We've seen a lot in our time together at Tyndale, including a number of councils, one 6th floor apt. and some genuine good times. Al recently started his own blog- boring so far, but I'm sure it will pick up in light of his new theological positions. Here's to you Alan:

Lest rumours begin, allow me to post for the benefit of the internet community that reads Lewis' blog (viz. all 4 people):

al r hounsell is not an open theist. He does not hold to any particular theological position apropos the truth values of future counterfactuals of freedom to a significant degree to say that he "ascribes" to that particular theology. al r hounsell is an "open" theist in that he is open to "open theists" and sees their view as nearer to the centre of his orthodoxy (where the love of God is emphasized) than deterministic views that suggest that God causally ordains people to undergo horrendous evils and then sends them to burn for eternity "for his glory." These people, says al r hounsell, should be cast from orthodoxy far sooner than "open theists" who attempt to preserve God's love (and therefore libertarian freedom) in a way that they feel is logically consistent. al r hounsell enjoys any attempt to exalt the love of God and to be logically consistent. These are two of his favourite pastimes: exalting God's love and being logically consistent, along with long walks on the beach and heavy metal music (where "heavy is al's favourite word for "soft" and "metal" is his common term for "worship").
